Michael Dawson
has been a writer for forty years. He began his adult life as a journalism
and English major and worked on two newspapers before entering the U.S.
Navy. Mick’s post military education was a Bachelor’s of Business
Administration and he enjoyed a 25 year career as a business consultant.
However, writing has always been Mick’s first love and he has pursued
freelance writing from the beginning, writing for various magazines, newspapers,
and encyclopedia publishers. Regular freelance gigs writing marketing
materials and business manuals have peppered his career as well.
Mick
has spent the last several years studying screenwriting and has written
several screenplays. One, Behind the Window, has enjoyed
success in screenwriting contests, reaching the Quarterfinals in
six contests. Together with son David and daughter Theresa, Mick has
incorporated Dawson Digital Productions and as President,
is leading the company into
the full length feature film arena. Dawson Digital Productions, or
D2P as it is often called, has also earned its way with successful
projects in corporate promotional videos, corporate and industrial
training videos,
and a 60 second TV advertisement that aired nationally.
Mick began
acting with small parts in David Dawson’s short films and plays
the hit man “Silverfish” in What’s the Vig?
